Two things… Use Just Once and Destroy is not only the title of a Hole song, but a NIRVANA lyric from Radio Friendly Unit Shifter, off of the album IN UTERO. Also, in reply to another review… if Courtney Love makes ANY appearance at all on the next Smashing Pumpkins album, this is one long-time Corgan listener who will not be buying it, or any SP release of the future.

This was Hole’s last album, and we can hear why. Courtney Love had cleaned up, but not for long. Had they not been so lazy and taken a 4-5 year break after Live Through This maybe it would’ve been better received. Instead of the angry screaches of the past or the melodious pop songs, this is restrained and sounds like they are trying to be far more mainstream. It didn’t happen, not by a longshot.
The songs in general are lite and airy, but the lyrics are bad. I got the sense that they put this together without their hearts really in it. And let’s face it, it’s all about the front cover where we are seeing Courtney’s buff, toned, cut, beautiful body just before she went through extensive plastic surgery to pull her face taut. This was Courtney’s last effort to show the world that she had talent, but other people wrote these songs for her. The truth is she has little to none aside from the ability to play a few chords, make a whole lot of noise, and be a bad girl. There are all those rumors that Kurt wrote Live Through This, and I tend to believe them because that was WAY better than this lukewarm, white bread project. I’m glad the other members of Hole bailed not long after this to move on, they needed to.

i hated that song,well heres something to tell courtney love
“stop tryin to act cool,cause your not plus,stop hurtin other peoples feelings like “retard girl” ok,it’s not nice.i love your cd but not that song”

1st you live off the fame of your dead husband then you take credit for lyrics that Billy Corgan helped write! Come on. Someone please pinch me so I will wake up from this nightmare and Hole will go away.
