1) As someone previously mentioned, he has anger management issues. He’s being blinded by his ideas about Dexter so that he can’t even think about anything else.
2) As evidenced by saying, “Thanks” to Maria when she put him on administrative leave, it makes me wonder if it wasn’t only Dexter who was manipulating this situation. Doakes may have made Dexter think that Doakes would react that way so that he could investigated Dexter on his own.
Great scene, but I have a hard time believing that Doakes, trained special forces, would be this stupid… A room full of cops and he snaps on Dex when he had all kinds of other chances to take Dex out privately
I hate that they used such a fake noise when he headbutted him and then used the same noise when Dexter’s head hit the table, but I still love that he did it. I fuckin hate Doakes.
