Does anyone else thinks that The Sopranos is the best TV show in history?
ByIt has so many artistic values, the developement of characters through out the series is psychologically profound, where as the story lines are philosophically profound. The nature of each character is a symbolism of the different figments of our mind and the characters decisions represents our moral conflict and boundaries.
Not to mention the first class acting/casting…
oh and how could i forget… the humour is gold!

It’s on the list. Probably I’d put some other shows ahead of it, but it’s in the top 5.

It was…. for the first 2 seasons. Seasons 3 and 4 had poor writing, but still great acting….
By Season 5 (which started production after a 20 MONTH HIATUS!!), James Gandolfini had lost his desire to play Tony Soprano. By season 6, so had the rest of the cast. The final season is one of the worst in the history of television, with absolutely nothing of substance. It was an absolute crime that it was even nominated for an emmy that year, with ONLY Edie Falco giving a decent performance.
The correct answer would be another HBO show, ‘The Wire’. Brilliant writing, great acting, and perfect social commentary. It never got old, it never got stale. It is the greatest show in TV history.

i enjoy it becasue of its originality. the first mob show in american history and it doesn’t have any of the mafia movie cliche’s like most mob stuff has. the story is ORIGINAL and the concepts are profound like u said, and also it takes an abnormal situation for most (the mafia), but the decisions and circumstances in that show can apply to us to….the everyday people. and ur right, the acting is good as well as the cinematography and the directionality. so yea, i’d say the best TV show in history.
plus it won 21 emmys and 5 golden globes which should be proof that this is the best program, giving drama a new television medium.
it’s too bad it’s cancelled, but they show reruns on A & E which is kinda coll bc u don’t need HBO to watch it anymore.
