Yellowstone Actor Cole Brings Plenty has passed away at the age of 27. The actor’s body was discovered in a wooded area on April 5th after deputies were dispatched about an unoccupied vehicle. The Johnson County, Kansas, Sheriff’s Office confirmed this in a press release. The investigation is ongoing, and a cause of death hasn’t been revealed at this time.
His uncle and Yellowstone star Mo Brings Plenty also posted about the news on Instagram on Friday, sharing a statement from Cole’s father Joe that reads in part: “I am deeply saddened to confirm that my son Cole has been found and is no longer with us. We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone for the prayers and positive thoughts you sent for Cole. We would also like to thank everyone who came to walk beside us as we searched for my son and provided the resources we needed to expand our search area. I learned this week how many people knew the goodness in Cole’s heart and loved him.”

This situation unfolded about a week ago when Cole went missing in connection with a domestic violence investigation. Lawrence Police have submitted an affidavit to the district attorney for the arrest of Cole Brings Plenty after an incident Sunday morning at an apartment in Lawrence. We’ve identified him as the suspect who had probable cause for his arrest and issued an alert to area agencies. Officers responded to reports of a female screaming for help, but the suspect fled before officers arrived. The investigation identified Brings Plenty, and traffic cameras showed him leaving the city immediately after the incident, traveling Southbound on the 59 highway. The incident involves allegations of domestic violence, which limits the amount of information we can share to protect the victim. No further details will be provided. Brings Plenty’s family has contacted officers, expressing concern and reporting him as a missing person. Brings Plenty was last known to be driving a 2005 Ford Explorer bearing Kansas license plates. Deputies checked the area and discovered a deceased male in a wooded area away from the vehicle. The deceased male has been identified as Cole Brings Plenty, just 27 years old. Investigators, crime scene investigators, and the medical examiner are on the scene. And if you have any information, investigators are asking you to reach out to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office with the number on your screen.
