I’ll be honest. Of all the war movies I’ve seen, this is probably the only one I’m not really familiar with. I vaguely remember the trailer, but given that there aren’t enough good subs, this is one I’m going to put on my watchlist as well. I guess, I fall somewhere in the middle. I remember it being a gritty and intense war film, but ultimately it was kind of forgettable. Lone Survivor follows a Navy SEAL team on a mission to capture a high-ranking Taliban leader who faces overwhelming odds in the mountains of Afghanistan. It is an intense portrayal of bravery and brotherhood under fire, and it is full of intense and powerful combat scenes. Mark Wahlberg is also great as the lead, and overall, Lone Survivor is a realistic depiction of the SEALs’ ordeal and an emotional tribute to their sacrifice. This movie is available in only one Netflix region: South Korea.
