Venom 3: The Last Dance Trailer Breakdown with Release Date Insights

The trailer for the best-expected comic book sequel, Venom 3: The Last Dance, is released now! With more questions than answers, let’s start this breakdown. Venom: The Last Dance is an upcoming American superhero movie based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name, directed by Kelly Marceland and distributed by Sony Pictures Entertainment. The film will be released in the United States on October 25, 2024. It’s rumored that Venom discovers that a guy named Peter Parker will be the cause of his death, and this information reaches the symbiotes’ hive mind, prompting all the symbiotes to come to Earth to target Peter.

Eddie finds Peter first and discovers that Peter is a 10-year-old child allergic to spiders. Being a good guy, Eddie cancels his old plan and pretends to be Peter’s father to protect him from the other symbiotes. This is the basic plot of the movie as we know it.

Now, let’s talk about the trailer. It starts where we left off last time in No Way Home. Eddie has returned to his world and is satisfying Venom’s hunger.

Then we see Orvell Taylor, played by the same actor who played Mordo in the MCU and who never returned to take revenge on Doctor Strange as he mentioned in the first Doctor Strange movie. Now, this isn’t Mordo, so let’s find out Orvell Taylor’s story.

Orvell is a US Army General whose son worked in a supervillain prison but was killed by Venom one day. Since then, Orvell has vowed to eliminate all symbiotes from Earth, a similar situation in the movie. To achieve this, Orvell recruits military professionals to form a team called The Jury, which we see in the trailer going after Venom.

Here’s the big question: Orvell’s motivation and his team are clear, but in the scene, Orvell is collecting the symbiote left behind by Venom in the No Way Home bar. However, this bar and bartender exist in the MCU, not the Venomverse, and in the MCU, the actor playing Orvell also played Mordo. This scene doesn’t make sense. There could be two explanations: either multiverse travel will happen in the movie, which seems a bit stupid, or, like the Morbius movie trailer, this scene is just to grab attention and might not even be in the movie.

Let’s see what this scene means in the movie. Moving forward in the trailer, Venom says his home has found him. Venom then arrives at Klyntar, known as the Planet of the Symbiotes.

So, this might be Eddie’s last movie, but Sony could be setting up the symbiote invasion story for their universe, where we might see Knull in the future.

If Sony Entertainment is smart, they could take the storyline to the Infinity War level with Spider-Man. Let’s see what happens with the multiverse. Another big hint in the story comes from a monster trying to eat Venom. Besides The Jury, there is a second villain in this movie named Genophage, an enemy of the symbiotes. This shape-shifting creature’s only purpose is to eat symbiotes, particularly those that have bonded with a host for a long time, making Eddie Brock its favorite food.

Spotting Clues: Young Peter Parker and Dr. Connors’ Surprise Cameos!

A whole race wanting to eat symbiotes arrived on Earth in the comics when multiple symbiotes suddenly spread on Earth. Moving on from this, we encounter the movie’s last villain, Toxin. In the last movie, a detective named Patrick Mulligan got infected with Carnage’s symbiote. Since he’s a detective, Toxin isn’t a savage like Carnage; he sees symbiotes as monsters and wants to kill them. This means he’ll be against Eddie too, but since Toxin is an anti-villain, we might see him siding with Eddie by the end of the movie.

There is another important symbiote character, a female who will be Eddie’s love interest and become the symbiote named Scream. We last saw Scream in the Spider-Man 2 game. If they mix this character into the movie, we’ll see different types of symbiotes. This means there will be no shortage of symbiotes in this movie.

Additionally, in the van scene, we see a young boy who could be a young Peter Parker, and a hippie sitting in front of him, played by the same actor who played Dr. Connors, aka the Lizard, in The Amazing Spider-Man. It’s unclear what Sony is doing with the multiverse, but we’ll get answers in the future.
